Marshall steam roller
Marshall Road Roller No.82842
“Goolie”
Seen in action at the Cromford Steam Rally, this steam roller was built in 1927, carrying the livery of Goole District Council.
Marshall, Sons & Co. were a British agricultural machinery manufacturer based in the Britannia Iron Works, Gainsborough in Lincoln.
The majority of Steam Rollers are outwardly similiar to Traction Engines - the key difference is that on a roller, the main roll replaces the front wheels & axle that would be fitted to a traction engine.
